Centretown Heritage Study Public Information Session

This event has already taken place.

Centretown is one of the oldest residential neighbourhoods in Ottawa and has strong historical ties to Ottawa’s role as the national capital. Due to its proximity to Parliament Hill, this area developed as a residential neighbourhood for government workers mainly between 1890-1914 and many of these buildings remain to this day.

The City has been conducting the Centretown Heritage Study to update the existing Centretown Heritage Conservation District (HCD) and Minto Park Heritage Conservation District plans which include policies to protect and incorporate heritage attributes as these areas continue to grow and develop. The work has included an inventory of existing buildings in Centretown, a review of the boundary areas, and an update of the HCD plans. The draft HCD plan is available on the project website for review.

On Tuesday, March 22 at 6:30 PM, City Heritage staff are holding a virtual information session to present the draft HCD plan, gather feedback from residents, and explain next steps.

Zoom InfoRegister in advance for this meeting. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
