Housing has risen to the top of the federal election campaign as a concern for people across the country. The skyrocketing cost of housing has left hundreds of thousands of people without affordable options. Vote Housing, a national campaign launched by the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness, has laid out a platform for what it means to actually vote for housing.
Join us for a virtual conversation about what it means to #VoteHousing in this election. Ottawa’s Housing and Homelessness Liaison Catherine McKenney will join Alliance Executive Director Kaite Burkholder Harris to discuss the impact federal housing policy has on our neighbourhoods.
Catherine and Kaite will talk about what the federal government’s role in housing actually is, what real affordability means, the solutions to the housing and homelessness crisis, and whether party platforms are addressing these effectively.
